Workshop on Positivity, Convexity and Computation in Rigidity Theory
Joint with Martin Winter, we are organizing a workshop on Positivity, Convexity and Computation in Rigidity Theory. It will take place at TU Braunschweig at February 26 and 27, 2026. It is supported by the SPP Combinatorial Synergies. With this workshop we want to bring together researchers with interest and expertise in questions of geometric rigidity theory, with experts concerned with positivity, convexity, symmetry and computations in the realm of real algebraic geometry. Here you find the poster.
Exhibition "Unendlichkeit - Leere - Lebendigkeit"
In January - September 2025 the exhibition " Unendlichkeit - Leere - Lebendigkeit ", organized by Timo de Wolff, Anne Hemkendreis, and Michael Saliba, occurs at the Planetarium Hamburg. It is, next to the Planetarium, supported by Die Junge Akademie and the Bodo-von-Borries-Stiftung.

Summer School on Nonlinear Optimization and Combinatorics
Joint with Thorsten Theobald, Christian Kirches, and Jonas Ellwanger, we organized a Summer school on Nonlinear Optimization and Combinatorics. It occured at TU Braunschweig from August 28 till September 2, 2025 as a satellite event of the annual meeting of the SPP "Combinatorial Synergies" in Hannover at September 3-5. We have a poster for the event, which you can find here.
"Die 7 größten Abenteuer der Mathematik" ("The 7 Biggest Adventures in Mathematics")
In June - November 2022 Timo de Wolff, Janin Heuer, and Sebastian Stiller were the main organizer for "Die 7 größten Abenteuer der Mathematik" ("The 7 Biggest Adventures in Mathematics") - a series of talks and outreach activities about the seven Millennium Problems taking place in seven German cities.
The event was organized by Die Junge Akademie (in a project joint with the JA Alumna Anna Wienhard), and the Deutsche Mathematiker Vereinigung.
It was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, and was under patronage of Bettina Stark-Watzinger, the federal Minister of Education and Research at the time.
Here you find the poster, the press release (in German), and the trailer for the series.
The recorded talks are here.
International Congress of Mathematical Software 2020
Our group was the local lead organizer of the International Congress of Mathematical Software (ICMS) 2020 that took place from July 13 - 16, 2020. The congress gathered mathematicians, scientists and programmers who are interested in the development of mathematical sofware.
