I am the head of the research group on "Applied Algebra" at the Department of Mathematics of the Technische Universität Braunschweig. I am also a member of Die Junge Akademie (Class 2019; my profile at the JA), and the Emmy Noether Program of the DFG, leading a project on "New Certificates of Nonnegativity and Their Application in Science and Engineering".
Before I came to TU Braunschweig, I held positions at the Technical University Berlin, the Texas A&M University, the Saarland University, and the Goethe University.

Editorial and Organizatorial Work

I am an associate editor for the SIAM Journal on Applied Algebra and Geometry.

I am the local chair for "ICMS 2020" occurring at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany at July 13-16, 2020. You can learn about the ICMS conference series at their permanent website.

Joint with Tim Römer and Frank Röttger I am organizing a workshop on "Applied Algebra in Data Science" at the MPI MiS in Leipzig, Germany in 2021 (postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19).

I am member of the executive committee for "MEGA 2021" occuring at the Arctic University of Norway, in Tromsø at June 7-11, 2021. You can learn about the MEGA conference series at their permanent website.
